On April 15, 2025, APIB held the inauguration ceremony for their new President and CEO. Witnessed by the Board of Directors, management team, and staff representatives, Dr. Xie Jun officially assumed leadership of the bank, ushering in a new chapter of fintech development.
In his inaugural speech titled “On the journey across the sea of stars, we are always accompanied by countless lights,” Dr. Xie delivered a poetic financial philosophy and outlined a visionary development blueprint. By revisiting his own career path — from grassroots technology R&D to strategic management — Dr. Xie reaffirmed the bank’s founding mission of “finance for the people”. He emphasized: “True digital financial innovation should not only serve as a driver of national strategy but also act as the capillaries of the real economy. Every breakthrough we achieve in technology must ultimately translate into a tangible warmth felt by people.”
In the face of a rising digital economy, President Xie proposed three strategic pillars:
1. Integration of Industry and Finance: Build an “industry demand-driven” matrix of digital financial products, with a focus on supporting strategic sectors such as advanced manufacturing and green energy.
2. Frontier Technology Deployment: Accelerate the application of blockchain technology in various cross-border settlement scenarios, while continuing to explore digital asset ownership and transaction mechanisms in the metaverse.
3. Revolutionizing Service Experience: Leverage AI-powered risk control systems to create a seamless and intelligent financial service ecosystem.
“As we stand at the forefront of the Web 3.0 era, we must not only remain keen to technological advances but also uphold the fundamental essence of finance,” President Xie stated. “The digital bank of the future should be a blend of technological rationality and human warmth. On this journey to the sea of stars, every employee is a light that brightens the path ahead.”
